The government’s new project, which involves ‘104’ as the special
designated number in India for blood requirements and is a ‘blood on
call’ service is running smoothly, thus providing blood within four hours in a radius
of 40 km at Rs 450 along with transportation charges of Rs 100. The
sources stated that this service will be available 24×7, wherein a
person concerned can contact the number and give details regarding the
patient’s name, hospital, treating doctor, district.
Following this, they will be provided with blood according to their
need. The sources further said that along with this service, there is
also a ‘108’ number available for accidents and emergency patients. Modi's new project : "104 - Blood on Call" is the name of the new initiative which comes into
being from this day onward and all one has to do in order to avail of
this service is to call the aforementioned number 104 following
which the much needed quantities of blood would be made available to
you at your doorstep within four hours of receiving your call.
