Style on a budget: Renting party wear is the new fashion mantra.

The age-old quick fix of borrowing clothes from friends, sisters and relatives has now taken a new-age avatar of specialized agencies available both online and off, that offer clothes, accessories and even footwear on rent. Options include the very latest in Indian and western styles, limited edition designer pieces to near-identical imitations, heavy-duty bridal wear to tasteful collections for grooms, semi-formal and informal dresses, coats and suits. Scores of choices are available even for the humble 'ghaghra choli', with 'dandiya' nights demanding a different one to be worn on all nine days of Navaratra.

Shreenath Shetty, proprietor of Shrishti Costumes in Aundh, explains that the rent is for the duration for which a dress is hired, and not for the garment itself. "Party wear nowadays is not so affordable. Earlier, choices were limited to saris or suits, but now they are aplenty. Renting the look, thus, makes perfect sense for those who are pressed for time, but are conscious of turning out in clothes appropriate for the occasion," says Shetty.

He has seen his business grow from a mere four-five rentals a month in 2009 to more than 1,000 customers in a peak month.

Most of these agencies offer as-good-as-new clothes of the client's choice, dry-cleaned and altered to fit their size, against a fixed daily rental and a refundable security deposit. A few agencies go as far as to provide doorstep drop-and-pick up services. Most ensure delivery of a complete look for their clients, matching clothes with accessories and jewellery for the hassle-free all-under-one-roof experience. Payments may be made in cash or by card, with most service providers exhibiting their entire collections online to allow customers to choose their look at ease, and even book it online. To know more visit our site http://allindiayellowpage.com/.
