also taken a leap to cater to the growing demand. Apart from the

City Centre mall has a couple of parlours but my aim was to provide
best services at affordable rates. While the high end parlours have a
niche crowd I have a very loyal clientele which include working
professionals Sector V," says 27-year-old Tania Saha who owns Rose
Beauty Salon and Spa at CF block of Sector I. "It is a great place for
professionals to unwind after a long day at work," she adds.
Since Saha utilized the ground floor of her home to start the parlour
the seed capital was cut down. "I put in about Rs7 lakhs for the
interiors and to buy equipment and in the first year itself I started to
earn profits at about 5 percent. The year's business volume and profit margin both saw a rise," adds the young entrepreneur.
GOING ONLINE
Thanks to advent of e-commerce, the parlours are going online to market themselves more effectively and profitably.
"I wanted beauty to be a click away. Online buying is in and we are
trying to make the best use of digital media to promote our business. We
keep a lot of deals at cheap rates," says Saha. Though the profit
margins are really low, customer volume increases. Besides online retail
stores are a wonderful platform for new brands like ours," says Saha.
Her salon offers a hair spa, French pedicure, French manicure, haircut
with styling, face clean-up, eye-brow threading and forehead cleaning
