After successfully running that unit for 4 years, thesecond unit was established in the year 1999 at Bibinagar, Nalgonda Distirct,Andhra Pradesh, India. The Bibinagar unit is known in the market as the singlelargest manufacturing unit in India and rest of South Asia. These two units arepresently meeting the demands of 3 electricity distribution companies out offour such companies formed by Andhra Pradesh State Electricity Board. These 2production units are covering the needs of neighboring states as well. Thecompany established its third production unit near Varanasi in 2005 to addressthe demands from customers located in the state of Uttar Pradesh and other neighboringstates. Its fourth production unit, with a capacity of 0.5 million poles perannum, is operational near Sholapur in the state of Maharashtra since 2008. Itslatest production unit is located at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and is operationalduring the current year 2012.

In addition to the reputation of beinga ´quantity´ producer in terms of volume of production, MPIL is also known formaintaining highest ´quality´ standards for its entire line of products. Itsproduction processes are governed by stringent quality norms as per ISO9001:2000 guidelines. Its raw material procurement policy is guided more byquality factors than cost factors.
